Local partner core operations grants

The Local Partner Core Operations Grant helps the local clean air agencies successfully implement comprehensive air quality control programs to protect and enhance air quality within their jurisdiction. Projects must meet the goals of the state and federal Clean Air Acts. The accomplished work will occur in one or more of the seven major categories: 

  1. Enforcement.
  2. Permitting.
  3. Monitoring.
  4. Public Education & Enforcement.
  5. Planning & Program Development.
  6. Technical & Business Assistance.
  7. Administration.

Local Partner Core Operations Grants are funded with 54.5 percent of the state’s federal Section 105 Air Quality Performance Partnership Grant provided by the Environmental Protection Agency, plus $1,288,045 annually from the State Toxics Control Account.

Applications are accepted in the summer of each odd year.

Funding is available for the following entities:

Local clean air agencies and Ecology regional offices where a local clean air agency doesn't exist.

Air quality control programs to enhance air quality within jurisdictions.
Projects should focus on enforcement, permitting, monitoring, public education & enforcement, planning & program development, technical & business assistance, and administration.
