Site background

BPA Ross Complex is an active facility that manages and controls the generation and transmission of electricity across the Pacific Northwest. It’s part of the Department of Energy (DOE). BPA’s dangerous waste management facility is located on a 250-acre property that was previously listed as a Superfund site in 1989, but as of 1995, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) determined that cleanup at this site was successful. The site is continually monitored and contaminants remain within acceptable levels.

We are proposing to reissue the dangerous waste permit for BPA Ross to authorize the continued management of dangerous waste at the Ross Complex. When issued, the permit will be in effect for a period of 10 years.
