We monitor 67 popular high-use, high-risk saltwater swimming beaches throughout the state. We often do this in partnership with local government.
We sample for bacteria beginning the week of May 20 and through Labor Day, Sept. 2. You can see which beaches are closed on our interactive Beach Closure and Advisory
map during the swimming and sampling season. We encourage you to bookmark this map on your smartphone.
The following beaches are proposed to be monitored in 2019. We’re asking members of the public to weigh in on the proposed list. You can share your comments and input
on the proposed list through May 3. Once we review feedback from the public, we’ll finalize our list. Beaches marked with an asterisk (*) will be sampled every other week.
