Join us on Zoom, 6 - 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 9. We’ll present the preliminary draft rule language, answer your questions, and gather feedback.
Ecology is conducting rulemaking to amend five instream protection rules to include specific requirements that are already in statute (RCW 90.94.030(4)) for Cities and Counties authorizing new permit-exempt wells in these watersheds.

Background
We write rules to implement and enforce state and federal environmental laws and rules. Ecology follows a three-phase process for rulemaking:
- Announcement and development
- Proposal
- Adoption
