The administrative record includes documents the Trustees use to make decisions about natural resource damage assessment and restoration actions.

The Trustees provide the administrative record to inform the public and enhance public involvement in the NRDA process. We will update the administrative record both electronically and in hard copy as we add new documents.

  • Damage Assessment letter accompanied the damage assessment and invites discussion. May 1, 2014.

  • Damage Assessment presents an estimate of damages in the Harbor. May 1, 2014.

  • Response to Damage Assessment responds to the Trustees’ damage assessment. May 30, 2014.

  • Request to discuss claims includes seven letters from the Trustee Council inviting discussion of claims again. December 10, 2015.

  • Follow-up Letters regarding claims includes three additional letters from the Trustee Council regarding invitation to discuss claims. January 20, 2016.

  • Kickoff meeting invitations contains five invitations to an initial meeting. March 23, 2016.

  • Draft Damage Assessment and Restoration Plan (DARP) is undergoing public comment. The DARP explains how the public will be compensated for natural resources lost due to impacts from contamination by hazardous material in Western Port Angeles Harbor. March 17, 2021.

  • Consent Decree (2-1) (legal settlement) is undergoing public comment. The Consent Decree is between NRDA Trustees and potentially responsible parties: Port of Port Angeles, Georgia-Pacific LLC, Nippon Paper Industries USA Co., Ltd., Merrill & Ring Inc., and Owens Corning. March 22, 2021.
