Climate Commitment Act: Ways to engage
We value your input and want to hear from you as we continue to implement the Climate Commitment Act (CCA) across Washington state. Check out our current and upcoming opportunities to give your input, including on our CCA rulemakings through comment periods and public hearings. Learn more about CCA-funded grants offered through Ecology, too.
Grant programs
A portion of CCA funds are appropriated by the Legislature to state agencies to disburse as grants to Tribes, business, nonprofits, and community organizations.
These are the CCA-funded grants we administer:
- Tribal Carbon Offset Assistance Grants: provides funding for Tribes to plan, design, and assess the feasibility of carbon offset projects on federally recognized Tribal lands in Washington.
- Tribal Climate Capacity Grants: provide support for federally recognized Tribes with lands and territories in Washington state to engage in a range of climate-related activities, including developing clean energy projects; consulting on spending decisions; engaging in clean energy siting processes; applying for state or federal grant funding; and activities supporting climate resilience and adaptation.
- Air Quality in Overburdened Communities Grants: these grants will fund organizations serving communities identified as overburdened and highly impacted by air pollution, as well as participating Tribes, to conduct community engagement and develop projects to reduce air pollution.
- Landfill Methane Emissions Reduction Grants: provides funding to help municipal solid waste landfill owners comply with standards in the Landfills-Methane Emissions law (Chapter 70A.540 RCW).
