Toxics Cleanup

Accidental spills of dangerous materials and past business practices have contaminated land and water throughout Washington. The Toxics Cleanup Program (TCP) works to remedy these situations, which range from cleaning up leaking underground storage tanks, to large complex projects requiring engineered solutions.

The Model Toxics Control Act, Washington’s cleanup law, is the engine that powers our work to improve Washington’s environment, economy, and quality of life.

On our website, residents can locate contaminated sites all over the state. Property owners can learn how to clean up polluted properties, redevelop brownfields, and manage underground storage tanks. Our cleanup tools, policies, publications, and staff are here to help you.
