Shelton Laundry groundwater monitoring
We are monitoring the groundwater at the Shelton Laundry site, where legacy chemicals from a dry-cleaning operation are still found in the shallow aquifer. The groundwater data we collect will be used to determine when groundwater standards are met.
Sampling for legacy dry-cleaning chemicals
Groundwater samples are collected every 18 months from select wells to monitor concentrations of tetrachloroethene (PCE) that continue to exceed the state Model Toxics Control Act cleanup level. The groundwater data will be used to help determine if this site can be removed from the Confirmed and Suspected Contaminated Sites list.
