Application of Water Quality Criteria to Brackish Waters
Chapter 173-201A of the Washington Administrative Code (WAC), the Surface Water Quality Standards (standards) contains the description of the designated uses associated with each waterbody in the state. Special circumstances that require further instructions to determine which numeric criteria apply to a designated use category are guided by the rules in subsection 260(3).

Water Decontaminator
Ecology finds this water decontaminator is functionally equivalent to the catch basin insert for stormwater control. While this product does not meet Washington's water quality performance criteria, it may be used in retrofit or construction situations to provide some level of TSS removal for stormwater.

Splash Boxx Functional Equivalency
Ecology finds Splash Boxx treatment system is functionally equivalent to a Bioretention Facility (rain garden) when using approved Bioretention Soil Media for stormwater management and must adhere to the guidelines for Bioretention areas found in Best Management Practice T7.30.

Tigerfloc Functional Equivalency
Ecology finds Tigerfloc functionally equivalent to the flocculent chemicals identified in Best Management Practice C250 (Construction Stormwater Chemical Treatment) for stormwater management. Contractors may use Tigerfloc as a replacement for other approved chemicals such as ChitoSan Acetate when operating an enhanced sand filtration system on construction sites.

Aquatic Noxious Weed Control NPDES General Permit
The general permit covers the indirect discharge of herbicides, adjuvants, and marker dyes into estuaries, marine areas, wetlands, along lake shorelines, rivers, streams, and other wet areas to manage Spartina and freshwater noxious weeds in Washington. An indirect discharge occurs when there may be incidental overspray or dripping of a chemical from the treated plants into waters of the state.

CSWGP High Turbidity/Low Transparency Reporting
Sites covered under the Construction Stormwater General Permit (Permit) must take specific reporting and adaptive management actions in order to comply with permit requirements when obtaining high turbidity results (greater than or equal to 250 Nephelometric Turbidity Units (NTUs)) or low transparency results (less than or equal to 6 centimeters).
