Cosmo Specialty Fibers

We regulate the air, water, and hazardous waste activities at the Cosmo Specialty Fibers pulp mill in Cosmopolis.

Water quality permit comment period

Sept. 17 - Oct. 23, 2020

We invite you to comment on draft modifications (changes) to Cosmo Specialty Fibers National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System water quality permit.

Changes to the permit

The mill temporarily closed (curtailed) in May 2020. Since the mill does not generate (create) process wastewater when it's not operating, we propose reducing water quality monitoring requirements during periods of curtailment.

We also made administrative changes updating website addresses referenced in the permit.
