Nippon Dynawave Industrial Incident
On the morning of Tuesday, May 26, 2026, Ecology was informed by the Washington State Emergency Management division that white liquor was released from a storage tank at Nippon Dynawave in Longview. We are responding to this incident as part of a Unified Command. Updates will be posted to the spill incident page as information becomes available.
Our Industrial Section provides oversight and regulation for air, water, and waste activities for most of Washington's largest industrial facilities. These include refineries, smelters, pulp and paper mills, and chemical manufacturing plants. Industrial Section staff also oversee cleanup work at some of these sites.
